PLANETARIUM

May 11, 2012 is Planetarium Shows.

The Planets at 7:00p.m., A Voyage Across Our Solar System

StarWatch at 7:40p.m. Learn how to find the planets and constellations

New Horizons: The mission to Pluto at 8:20 p.m.

Show date is Friday, May 11, 2012 -The planetarium is located in the York Learning Center at 300 East 6th Avenue in York. Admission is $4.00 for adults, $3.00 for children and seniors. Admission to any second or third show is $1.00 each. See: Planetarium

PUBLIC OBSERVING

May 12, 2012 at 8:30 to 10:30 P.M. is Public Observing

May 12, 2012 is Free Public Observing starting 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. at YCAS Observatory, John Rudy Park. Take a tour with members of the York County Astronomical Society of  the Galaxies, planets, Moon and the constellations of the May night sky. See the highlights for May 12th at: Public Observing.

WEATHER

For all Observing activities at John Rudy Park, if the weather is
questionable, please check this website or our voice message as 717-578-9109 for any
last minute cancellation. If it is clear or mostly clear, the activity will occur as
scheduled. If it is completely cloudy, raining or snowing, the activity
will be cancelled.

 

Formed in 1989, the non-profit York County Astronomical Society aims to promote interest, public education, and advancement of the science of astronomy. In addition to planetarium shows, the society presents regular public sky watches and astronomy classes.
